The pencil skirt and crop top is a look that was
made popular by Kim Kardashian, and has recently been worn by celebrities like
Daisy Lowe and Anne Hathaway. Pencil skirts are a classic cut which have always
been worn as office wear; but with daring prints and luxurious fabrics they
have been given a new feminine take.
Their longer length and tight fit has taken sexy to
a new level, being less ‘in your face’ than a mini skirt and definitely more
grown up. The pencil skirt allows all women to embrace their shape and flaunt
their curves.
The skirt is a summer staple, as it can be paired
with chunky sandals, a loose crop top and retro sun glasses for sunny day, or
worn with high heels, a body and costume jewellery for a summery night out.
Of course, the mini skirt will always hold a place
in our hearts… but it is definitely time for the world to embrace a more
sophisticated and mature fashion.
