As if it wasn't impressive enough already, Nicole Scherzinger has added fashion designer to her CV. Writer Hollie Roper is talking you through the star’s debut clothing collection for Missguided…
Nicole Scherzinger, former X Factor judge and once-upon-a-time Pussycat Doll has released her debut fashion collection for Missguided.
Us Brits fell in love with her quirky and edgy personality last year on the X Factor when Nic had us all laughing with her own language ('schamazing','amazeballs', etc.).
She always looks gorgeous and oozes sex appeal, combining high street with high fashion -Nicole famously wore a Missguided outfit on TV. She believes the Missguided woman is “really strong” and that the clothes in this collection will empower women.
The collection is described as a combination of sophistication, sex appeal and directional fashion. It contains 30 affordably priced (£15-£50) pieces which have all been modeled by Nicole herself in a photo-shoot just outside of LA.
The collection has a sport luxe theme as inspired by Alexander Wang and Gucci Spring/Summer 2014. Cutaway detailing, mesh inserts and bare midriffs are all present, as well as an interesting mix of textures from fishnet jumpers to leather trousers. All pieces in the collection are wearable, with simple silhouettes and mostly monochromatic colours (there is a splash of edgy cobalt blue).
I think this collection is 'schamazing' and have added a number of its pieces to my basket for purchasing come pay-day. The long sleeved fishnet crop top (£20) and midi skirt with mesh detail (£20) is my favourite co-ordinate and would make a fabulous going out outfit, combining sex appeal with a quirky vibe.
If you’re on the look out for some new Spring Summer wardrobe stock then head over to Missguided.co.uk. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with Nicole’s efforts!
